The Celebrity Challenges are set to launch in 2014. This competition begins with a 36-hole, Celebrity-Amateur team event, as 24 celebrities from the entertainment and sports world will captain four-player, amateur teams over 36 holes in search of a winner’s check of $20,000. The celebrity will play their own ball and the amateurs will play a scramble. Both scores will be added together in a two best-ball scoring format. The purse for each team event is $50,000. Amateurs on the top five teams will win crystal trophies and various merchandise, while prizes for the celebrities captaining the top five teams are as follows:
1st place – $20,000
2nd place – $12,500
3rd place – $7,500
4th place – $6,000
5th place – $4,000
The celebrities from the top 10 teams in the previous 36-hole Celebrity-Am competition advance to the 9-hole shootout main event on the final day of each event and will play for a $200,000 winners check from a $300,000 purse. Similar to the main event format for the Million Dollar Invitationals, the 10 celebrities play holes 10-18 on the third day of the competition (beginning on No. 10) with one player subject to elimination on each hole. The player who makes the highest score on each hole is eliminated. If multiple players make the highest score on a hole, those players will have a skill competition before play commences on the next hole to determine which player is eliminated. This process continues each hole until only two competitors are left on the 18th tee. The 10 celebrity finalists will be awarded the following prizes based on where they finish:
1st place – $200,000
2nd place – $30,000
3rd place – $18,000
4th place – $13,000
5th place – $9,000
6th place – $8,000
7th place – $7,000
8th place – $6,000
9th place – $5,000
10th place – $4,000
